This Croatian display doll depicts a Croatian woman wearing the traditional costume of Zagreb, the capital of the former Yugoslavia. The traditional clothing is called "Hrvatska narodna nošnja."

For the female dress, attire consists of a plain white dress to which is added other decorations, which may include another overdress or skirt, a decorative jacket, an apron, a scarf, and a shawl which is usually decorated with a floral or animal motif. The embroidery is very intricate and is usually red, white, blue, gold, or black. Married women, as this doll shows, wear silk kerchiefs on their heads.

This doll was probably manufactured before the break-up of Yugoslavia in 1991, as its tag refers to that country.
