This Norwegian doll represents the traditional costume of women in Setesdal, East Agder in Norway. The outfit consists of a linen or cotton shirt, fastened with decorative silver pins, a white wool skirt with an embroidered waist and a triple hem, a patterned woven sash or belt, knitted wool socks and buckled shoes. For dress occasions, a second, shorter, skirt, this one black, is worn over the first skirt. The hems of both skirts are visible.
