This Italian doll represents the traditional Sardinian male outfit developed over 300 years between the 1600s and 1900s. The most distinctive part of the outfit is the headwear, called the "berritta." It is a shaped sack, often made of black velvet, that hangs down the side and back of the wearer. The outfit consists of a linen blouse, a vest, a jacket, wide pants, a pleated skirt and thick shoes.
