Bulgarian Display Doll: "Nosiya"

This Bulgarian doll is dressed in traditional attire, called "nosiya." Each region of the country has its own version of the traditional costume.

Men's clothing can be divided into two groups based on whether the outfit is predominantly white or predominantly black. This doll is in the black group, wearing a long white shirt, loose-fitting pants, a wide belt that is red, a vest and a black outer cape. His fur cap is called a "kachul."

Dolls from Bulgaria are wooden column dolls without arms.
