This is a US Hawaiian display doll. Most tourists expect Hawaiian women to wear hula grass skirts and mu'u mu'us. However, Hawaiian women wore a variety of different styles.

Hawaiian Makaleka Souvenir Dolls were made by Margaret (Makaleka) Hind Clarke Bennett, who is a descendant of both Hawaiian and European cultures, to show the beauty and variety of dress styles actually worn by Hawaiian women during the latter part of the 20th Century. The development of ethnic costumes evolved through the merging of cultures.
