"Huasos," Chilean cowboys, are generally found in Chile's central valley. Huasos farm as well as raise cattle. They are skilled horsemen. Traditional clothing includes a hat called a "chupalla," a poncho a short waistcoat and tooled leather leggings.
The traditional "cueca" dance is performed by a huaso and his sweetheart, called a "China," both dressed in traditional attire.
