This doll represents a Scottish bagpiper. He wears a traditional outfit, called a "kilt." The kilt is a wrap-around skirt woven of wool in a tartan pattern. It has pleats at the sides and back. The kilt is most often worn by men on formal occasions and at some sporting events and by bagpipers.
