The Kuna head scarf is called "muswe". A muswe's fabric is traditionally bright red with yellow designs. The Kuna woman usually drapes the muswe over her hair, but she can carry it folded over her shoulder if there is no sun.
Prior to European contact, the Kuna People lived in the central region of what is now Panama and on the San Blas Islands. Today, the group lives primarily on the islands, which are controlled by Panama.
