These hand-knitted wool slippers, called "priglavci" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are typical in Balkan countries. The slippers' designs are generally geometric patterns. These designs are particular to different regions, passed from mother to daughter.

Many of the designs resemble patterns typical of the Ottoman empire, which controlled the Balkan countries for some 600 years, until the 1900s.
